The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is the fourth-largest running race in the world with a field of 48.000 runners. There are also close to 2 million spectators lining the marathon route. That certainly provides a much-needed mental boost in the race’s later stages. The flat, fast course and the temperate November weather are ideal for setting a new personal record. But bear in mind that Chicago can be windy, at times. Then again, nothing is guaranteed in a marathon race anyway.
